A curated homeware boutique tucked into Brooklyn’s historic Atlantic Avenue—has quickly become a beacon for lovers of heritage craft and thoughtful design. Designed by Studio Giancarlo Valle, their 450-square-foot space brings together natural materials, domestic textures, and carefully selected objects, all aimed at enriching the beauty of everyday rituals.
At the heart of their mission is a deep respect for European craftsmanship, independent artisans, and design that feels alive and meaningful. The founders, Alice and Francesca, channel their love of discovery—from growing up in London to sourcing unique pieces across the continent—to create a home for objects that feel both timeless and unexpectedly modern.
I’m delighted that my sculptural trugs—steam-bent, clinker-built, and rooted in Fenland landscape and slow craft—have found a place among such intentional and beautifully made pieces. Each trug seeks to be more than utility; it’s a small vessel of memory, texture, and stillness—perfect for the kind of “beautiful things for beautiful homes” PORTA curates.
This collaboration aligns with the ideals I cherish: objects that whisper of riverbanks, wood grain, and ritual; pieces that are at once grounded in tradition and alive in contemporary interiors.
