The Log Trug

£545.00Price

The Log Trug: Available by commission only

Generously proportioned to hold an evening’s firewood for a medium-sized fireplace, stove, or campfire, the Log Trug also works as a vessel for the harvesting of orchard fruits such as apples and pears, or as a centrepiece for garden parties. From a peaceful night at home by the fire, to an outdoor gathering under sunny or starry skies, the Log Trug’s clean lines and refined aesthetic enhance and complete any setting.

Handcrafted using traditional steam bending methods inspired by boat building techniques, the trug features an overlapping construction akin to the clinker hulls of Fenland boats. Its strong yet light structure incorporates copper nail and rove fixings as a further nod to boat building traditions, and whether nesting one inside another like matryoshka dolls or displayed as a solitary sculptural piece, the trug will sway and rock, boat-like, as it catches the wind. Fashioned from carefully and sustainably sourced wood and finished in a natural wax oil.

Each trug is an expression of flow — steam-bent curves, natural wood, and a rhythm of making that brings energy and honesty into the finished vessel.

  • Postage & Packaging

Delivery to the U.K is free of charge and will be within 7 working days of ordering but more often than not sooner. If you need your trug in a hurry, please email me jane@janecrisp.com, I can arrange next day delivery in some cases.

I also ship to Europe and the USA for a small fee.

  • Finishing & Aftercare

I finish my work with two - three coats of a completely natural hard wax oil. I use Osmo because it’s hardwearing, food safe and leaves wood looking and feeling like wood. I also offer a refinishing service for any of my products and furniture.

To clean your trug, use a soft clean paintbrush and flick the dust and dirt, along the grain into the nozzle of a vacuum cleaner. The trug can be wiped clean with a very slightly damp cloth again in the direction of the grain.

My bangles should not be submerged in water.
